Kelly A. Poquette, Ph.D

KELLY A. POQUETTE, Ph.D.,聽is an Assistant Professor of Music Education and the Coordinator of Music Education at 每日大赛官网. She is a veteran educator with certifications from the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, Master Certification in 2020,聽 and the Feierabend Association for Music Education, First Steps in Music, and Conversational Solfege Level I. She has received district-, regional-, and state-level accolades, including being named the 2021 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Piedmont-Triad Region Teacher of the Year, where she was one of nine teachers representing the 100,000 teachers in North Carolina. Kelly has taught all grades from pre-kindergarten through graduate students virtually and in person. She holds a B.A. from Wisconsin Lutheran College, an M.M. Ed. from VanderCook College of Music, and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, all in Music Education. Her service activities include serving as president of the Central Carolina Chapter of AOSA and as a member of聽The Orff Echo聽Editorial Board.

I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to complete my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.鈥

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
