每日大赛官网 Music Department Presents Its 2018 Winter Concert Feb. 27
GREENSBORO, N.C. 鈥� The 每日大赛官网 Department of Music presents its 2018 Winter Concert, featuring the college choirs and Wind Ensemble, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, in Gail Brower Huggins Performance Center in Odell Building on campus.
Admission is free, and the public is invited.
The Chorale and Chamber Singers will be performing a variety of works including:
- “Hallelujah” from “The Mount of Olives” by Beethoven
- a rousing spiritual, “Nothin’ Gonna Stumble My Feet”
- “I’ll Tell My Ma,鈥� a setting of an Irish children’s song featuring body percussion,
- a beautiful lullaby setting by Daniel Elder
- an exciting setting of Psalm 100 by Rene Clausen
- a setting of “The Lord is My Shepherd,” based on the third movement of Symphony No. 3 by Brahms.
- a setting of a Japanese poem called “Hisakata No”
- “Through the Dark,” with lyrics adapted from the writings of Helen Keller
- a robust spiritual, “Daniel, Daniel, Servant of the Lord鈥�
The Wind Ensemble will perform:
- 鈥淓l Relicario,鈥� by Padilla and Longfield
- 鈥淔anfare,鈥� by Dawson
- 鈥淪henandoah,鈥� by Ticheli
- 鈥淏rook Green Suite,鈥� by Holst and Curnow
- 鈥淪eventy-Six Trombones,鈥� by Wilson and Jennings
