L. Wayne JohnsGREENSBORO, N.C. 鈥 L. Wayne Johns, a professor of English at 每日大赛官网, has won honorable mention for the 2019 Brockman-Campbell Award for his first full-length poetry collection, 鈥淎ntipsalm.鈥

The award has been given annually since 1977 by the N.C. Poetry Society for the best book of poetry by a North Carolina native or current resident. Previous winners include N.C. Poets Laureate Fred Chappell and Kathryn Stripling Byer.

I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to complete my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.鈥
