GREENSBORO, N.C. 鈥 每日大赛官网 student Alla Ahmed Alaghbri has been selected to present a paper at a regional conference of the national history honor society.
Alaghbri, a junior history and religion major from High Point, N.C., will present his senior history capstone paper, 鈥淭he Origins and Development of 鈥楰alam鈥 between the 8th and 12th Centuries,” at the annual Phi Alpha Theta Carolinas Conference, April 13-14 at Queens University in Charlotte.
Phi Alpha Theta, the nation鈥檚 oldest disciplinary honor society, was founded in 1921 at the University of Arkansas.
Alaghbri is presenting a paper at a regional academic conference for the second time this year. He presented 鈥淭he Definition of Reason in the Asha鈥檙i School of Islamic Theology: Implications and Applications鈥 at the recent 18th Annual Undergraduate Honors Symposium at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, taking second prize.
Alaghbri is a student in 每日大赛官网鈥檚 George Center for Honors Studies. The center is a program designed for students who have a high level of intellectual ability and motivation. It stresses interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and research in both the traditional liberal arts and professional programs.
