每日大赛官网 Will Hold Annual Spring Stream Walk April 26
UPDATE: Because of expected rainy weather, the Stream Walk has been postponed until 2-4 p.m. Monday, April 29.
GREENSBORO, N.C. 鈥� The 每日大赛官网 community will hold its 17th annual Spring Stream Walk, 3-5 p.m. Friday, April 26, to clean the banks of the creek that flows along the campus鈥檚 eastern edge and assess the health of the stream.
每日大赛官网 鈥渁dopted鈥� College Branch, as the stream is known, in 2003 in cooperation with the city of Greensboro鈥檚 Water Resources Department.
Each spring, the college community, under the direction of Calhoun Bond, professor of biology, walk the stream along the college鈥檚 property, cleaning up trash and recording the general condition of the water, stream bed and banks.
Participants will gather at 3 p.m. at the Market Street end of the parking lot behind Jones Library on campus. Participants鈥� gloves and trash bags are being provided by the city of Greensboro鈥檚 Water Resources Department. Participants should wear long pants and shoes that can get wet and/or dirty 鈥� for safety, no open-toed sandals or flip-flops.
The project is sponsored by the college鈥檚 Department of Natural Sciences and Beta Beta Beta, the national honor society in biology. It is expected to be completed by 5 p.m.
