Graduate Programs in TESOL

Welcome to the 每日大赛官网 TESOL/BE Community!

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Bilingual Education (BE) are ever-growing areas of study as the English language persists as a widely accepted form of communication in social, educational, and business interactions. The TESOL programs at 每日大赛官网 were founded in 2001 and have helped hundreds of students achieve their diverse goals and become successful practitioners in this exciting field.

Graduates of our MA programs find employment in intensive English programs, community colleges, non-profit organizations, corporate training programs, K-12 settings, and private language academies. The MA in TESOL is the universal 鈥済olden key鈥 to securing employment in global contexts in a wide range of international teaching positions. The MA in Bilingual Education opens doors in today鈥檚 educational programs for young learners. And finally, our MAT in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) prepares candidates for K-12 public schools. All our master鈥檚 degrees serve as a pathway to pursuing doctoral studies in fields such as applied linguistics, curriculum and instruction, and cultural and international studies.

每日大赛官网 also offers seven unique graduate certificates designed to allow for specialization within the broader field of TESOL. These 12-graduate semester-hour programs lead to specialized Certificates in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, not to a degree, and are designed to prepare candidates to teach in various professional contexts.

All coursework at 每日大赛官网 is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and recognized by the US Department of Education. Ministries of education around the world have accepted our degree and allowed our teachers to gain positions of leadership with the industry. When you apply to study TESOL at 每日大赛官网 you are joining a robust community of scholars with common interests where you will engage in meaningful discourse and make lifelong connections.

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald, 每日大赛官网 class of 2019

鈥淚 loved the GC Honors program and 每日大赛官网. I felt safe and a sense of genuine belonging at the college. I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to complete my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.鈥

- Dr. Josh Fitzgerald, Class of 鈥19, Mathematics Major

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
